Constitutional Amendements
- The Bitcoin Standard
- The dollar shall be defined as $1.00 = 0.00000100 BTC (100 satoshis)
- Congress shall pass no law restricting:
- the self-custody of bitcoin
- the anonymity of bitcoin wallets
- the use of any bitcoin wallet for transactions of any size
- Any batch of paper money or coins issued must be fully auditable and uniquely mapped on the bitcoin blockchain held by the treasury
- Any non-expired paper money or coins must be refundable in bitcoin from the treasury
- Paper money and coins will expire after a 20 year period, with clear markings differentiating consecutive batches each 10 years
- Once the 20 year period has elapsed and a batch of paper money and coins expires, the remaining bitcoin held by the treasury for that batch is released for use by the federal government
- Paper money and coins are optional, but not required. These rules apply IF paper money or coins are issued, but do not require them to be issued.
- Constitutional Court
- A new court (constitutional court) shall be established where each state may appoint up to 2 justices serving for life or retirement similar to supreme court justices
- Congress shall pass no law infringing on the state's right to determine the process for selecting justices
- The constitutional court shall assume the supreme court's jurisdiction concerning federal law
- The supreme court shall retain jurisdiction concerning state law
- The number of justices in the supreme court is explicitely capped at 9
- Taxation
- All existing federal taxes are hereby repealed
- There shall be a 5% national sales tax
- The national sales tax shall be the only source of revenue permitted for the federal government
- The standard legislative process can be used to decrease the national sales tax rate
- A constitutional amendment is required to increase the national sales tax rate
- Secession
- Each state shall have the right to secede following the secession process
- To initiate the secession process, a declaration to secede must be submitted to congress
- After a period of 5 years after the declaration to secede is submitted, a confirmation of secession must be submitted by the state to congress, at which time the state will no longer be a member of the union
- If a confirmation of secession is not received 6 years after the declaration to secede is submitted, the declaration to secede is nullified and the process for that state is reset
